Hans Brattrud's Arktis chair anno 1960

A lot due to the great work of our colleges at the company fjordfiesta, Hans Brattrud's beautiful Scandia chairs are celebrated as perhaps the most important Norwegian design from mid-century modernism.

Brattrud's Arktis Chair was made by Hove Furniture from around 1961. Based on the same lamination technique as Scandia, Arktis is no less beautiful, but was never really a big sales hit. A rare specimen sometimes shows up at auction houses at ever higher prices.
