31T: Cracking Gastronomy at Elementa

During the opening of the new Elementa premises at Prindseloftet in May, we had the pleasure to host a spectacular event shaped by Stockholm based designer Prang Lerttaweewit from Another New Design Studio.

During some 2 intense hours of culinary discovery, some 100 guests had the chance to mix 60 different ingredients organized by colour on a long table - ranging from known foods, to more esoteric ingredients. The rules were simple:

- 3 ingredients
- 1 bite
- Tell others!

Through a web based app, the result of each experiment along with a 1-line description and a rating was projected to a screen, allowing other guests to replicate delicious combinations.

The resulting data-set is a a quite unique document, marring the internet of things and a bottom up approach to advanced culinary experimentation, otherwise deviced only by the great chefs.
